At Kohimarama Beach I found these youngsters landing their Optimist sailing dinghies after a race.

These little yachts are 7' (2.13m) long at the waterline. I learnt to sail in one and they're a blast. I knew a guy who was 6'6" tall and he sailed one of these - it was a tight fit, because you have to sit sideways and the Optimists are only 3'8" wide. For him the hardest part was dodging the boom (the metal tube at the bottom of the sail) as it swung from one side of the boat to the other!
